Et annet alternativ er å dra inn de første 10 meterne av oterstrengen og slipp alt, strengen blir slakk og krokene synker litt, fisken biter ofte når strengen strammes opp igjen. På sensommeren og i mørket kan du heve oterstrengen slik at krokene striper på vannoverflaten.
